The Niners had the easier path to Super Bowl LVIII, but it hasn’t been pretty. They pulled off a last-minute comeback against the Packers in their first game and needed another comeback against the Lions in the NFC Championship. We knew there were some questions about Purdy’s ability in the postseason, but the San Francisco defense has been the problem. The unit almost cost them both games and now they will face one of the deadliest passing combinations in the league.
Unlike the Niners, the Chiefs have looked their best in the postseason. They had a brutal Wild Card game against the Dolphins and won impressive road games in Buffalo and Baltimore. The defense has continued to be great, and the offense finally looks like Kansas City hoped it would this season. The emergence of Rashee Rice has helped open up a Chiefs pass attack that lacked a proper number one (or even a number two) receiver. Rice’s play has forced defenses to back off Travis Kelce, and the result has been an offense that is once again elite.
This will be a close game, but the Chiefs have the talent, momentum, and experience in their favor. While San Francisco has the talent to be great, we have not seen enough in the playoffs to buy them as a Super Bowl winner. We’re taking the Chiefs’ moneyline in a lower-scoring game.
