Highlights

  • Bookmakers have set the Packers win total at 9.5 games
  • Jordan Love has thrown for 1,146 yards, ten touchdowns, and just two interceptions
  • The Packers have the Giants, Bucs, Panthers, Vikings, and Bears remaining on the schedule

After failing to win a game for 40 days earlier this season, the Packers now sit at 6-6 and are in possession of one of the NFC’s Wild Card spots. The team from Title Town has looked like a completely different squad over the last few weeks, leading to US sportsbooks to raise their win total.

Below, we will explain why we are betting on the Packers to cover their win total, helping you boost your bankroll at NFL betting sites in time for the playoffs.

Odds for the Packers to Cover Their Win Total

The Packers have been red hot, and it has led to bookmakers raising their win total. While the new total requires the team to dominate their remaining schedule, the prices are too good to pass up.

Why We Love the Packers Chances to Cover

The first and biggest reason we are making this bet is Jordan Love (2,866 yds, 22 TD, 10 INT). The 25-year-old started the season strong but then struggled badly for a long stretch. That has changed over the last four weeks, with Love throwing for 1,146 yards, ten touchdowns, and just two interceptions. He is throwing with confidence and making great decisions, even when under pressure.

On top of Love’s success, Green Bay has also seen their young receiving corps grow together. Christian Walker, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, and Luke Musgrave are all players in their first or second year in the league. They were dropping a lot of balls for the first half of the season but have been far better during the teams last few games.

While Walker could miss time again with a hamstring injury, this unit is getting enough production to cover for him. We see Reed (513 yds, 5 TD, stepping into a bigger role as he has emerged as one of the team’s top playmakers. They are using him in creative ways, which is creating nightmares for their opponents.

In addition to their young stars maturing, the Packers will also get Aaron Jones back in the lineup sometime soon. Jones is one of the league’s best rushers when healthy, and he could give this red-hot offense a major boost when back on the field.

As much as we love this Packers’ offense, their defense has been one of the better units in football. They now rank ninth in opponent scoring, allowing just 20.3 points per game. They are giving up a lot of yards, especially on the ground (136.3 YDS/G). While that is a concern, their improved offense is forcing opponents to work through the air, when the Packers are much stronger (203.8 YDS/G).

Breaking Down Green Bay’s Remaining Schedule

The Packers’ remaining schedule is yet another reason we love this bet. They will face the Giants on Monday Night football, followed by matchups with the Bucs, Panthers, Vikings, and Bears. Those teams have a combined record of 20-40, making it one of the easiest remaining schedules in the league.

Green Bay will need to win four of those five remaining games to cover this bet. A win against the Giants should be an easy task, and hosting the Bucs at home will give the Packers a major advantage. A league-worst Carolina team should be an easy win, leaving games with their two top rivals: the Vikings and Bears.

Winning at Minnesota with a playoff spot likely on the line will be very difficult, making this the most dangerous game remaining on the Packers’ schedule. The Bears in Week 17 could also be tricky if they are healthy and trying to win instead of focusing on draft positioning. Rivalry games can be dangerous, but Green Bay is better than both teams, making us comfortable taking the over on their high win total.
