The first and biggest reason we are making this bet is Jordan Love (2,866 yds, 22 TD, 10 INT). The 25-year-old started the season strong but then struggled badly for a long stretch. That has changed over the last four weeks, with Love throwing for 1,146 yards, ten touchdowns, and just two interceptions. He is throwing with confidence and making great decisions, even when under pressure.
On top of Love’s success, Green Bay has also seen their young receiving corps grow together. Christian Walker, Romeo Doubs, Jayden Reed, Dontayvion Wicks, and Luke Musgrave are all players in their first or second year in the league. They were dropping a lot of balls for the first half of the season but have been far better during the teams last few games.
While Walker could miss time again with a hamstring injury, this unit is getting enough production to cover for him. We see Reed (513 yds, 5 TD, stepping into a bigger role as he has emerged as one of the team’s top playmakers. They are using him in creative ways, which is creating nightmares for their opponents.
In addition to their young stars maturing, the Packers will also get Aaron Jones back in the lineup sometime soon. Jones is one of the league’s best rushers when healthy, and he could give this red-hot offense a major boost when back on the field.
As much as we love this Packers’ offense, their defense has been one of the better units in football. They now rank ninth in opponent scoring, allowing just 20.3 points per game. They are giving up a lot of yards, especially on the ground (136.3 YDS/G). While that is a concern, their improved offense is forcing opponents to work through the air, when the Packers are much stronger (203.8 YDS/G).
