Baltimore Orioles

+1400 to win the World Series at FanDuel Sportsbook

Maryland sportsbooks have been flooded with fans betting on the Orioles, and for good reason. The team took the league by surprise last season, winning 101 games and the AL East title. Their young roster broke out, led by rookie catcher Adley Rutschman. Baltimore scored the seventh most runs (807) in the league last season, and they should improve as most of their young lineup returns in 2024.

While we love the Baltimore lineup, their pitching staff has the potential to be great this season. The addition of Corbin Burnes gives them a solid ace to pair with Kyle Bradish, who broke out to go 12-7 with a 2.83 ERA in his second season. Behind them is 24-year-old Grayson Rodriguez, who experts believe will break out this season.

Time will tell how solid the Orioles bullpen is, but their lineup and improved pitching are enough to warrant a World Series bet.

Toronto Blue Jays

+2000 to win the World Series at BetMGM Sportsbook

Toronto was a team that disappointed in 2023. Their offense didn’t live up to the hype, finishing fourteenth in in the league in runs scored (756). The good news is that the Toronto finished fourth in overall ERA (3.78), with four starters posting ERAs under 3.90. All four return this season, signaling the Jays should once again be one of the best pitching teams in the league.

The Jays added some depth to their lineup with veteran bats, but the overall group is the same. While that would normally be cause for concern, we like that they are running it back with the same group. Vladimir Guerrero Jr. had a tough year, with his power numbers taking a dip. We have seen how good his bat is, and we think he flashes that again in 2024.

The biggest question mark will be Alek Monoah. The starter went from future ace to minor leaguer last season and will start this year on the DL. There is a good chance the Jays will trade him, giving him a fresh start somewhere else. However, if he can recapture his form from 2022, it would make the Jays rotation truly elite.

Seattle Mariners

+2100 to win the World Series at BetRivers Sportsbook

Do not sleep on the Mariners this season. The team had a horrible start to the 2023 season but came within a couple games of winning the AL West. While they lost an important bat in Teoscar Hernandez, the team did add Mitch Haniger and Jorge Polanco. That should give them a boost to help them find their offense earlier this year.

One other reason for the team’s slow 2023 start was Julio Rodriguez. The budding superstar had a rough first half of the season but turned things around in a big way in the second half. He showed why people like him as an MVP candidate, hitting for average and power while also stealing 37 bases. With two seasons under his belt, we see a monster year coming from the 23-year-old.

We believe the Mariners have the best rotation in all of baseball. Luis Castillo is a true ace, George Kirby and Logan Gilbert are both top-level arms, and Bryce Miller and Bryan Woo are promising young arms. They were great last season, but the effort was negated by the team’s offensive struggles. With a competent offense, this pitching staff could easily lead them to a World Series.
