  • Bobby Witt has 51 RBIs and 21 stolen bases this season
  • Gunnar Henderson is second in the league in home runs
  • Willy Adames has the seventh most RBIs in the league

The Dodgers have announced that they will be without Mookie Betts for the next 6-8 weeks. The former MVP broke his hand after being hit by a pitch, halting what had been a fantastic 2024 campaign. While the Dodgers have a lot of great bats to cover for the absence of Betts, he won’t be so easily replaced on your daily fantasy sports roster.

Below, we’ll share the four shortstops our US Legal Sports Betting experts are grabbing to replace Betts. We’ll share a couple of big dollar stars, as well as couple of budget-friendly options. If you are looking to upgrade your roster at DFS betting sites, you’ve come to the right place!

Bobby Witt Jr. – Kansas City Royals

If you are looking to spend the same budget you spent on Betts, Bobby Witt Jr. is a fantastic option. The 24-year-old is one of the betting favorites to win the 2024 AL MVP, thanks to his ability to contribute across multiple categories. Witt currently owns a .327 batting average to go with 11 home runs, 51 RBIs, 21 SB, and an OPS of .928.

While Witt will represent a drop in home run totals compared to Betts, who has hit 74 over the last two seasons. However, the young star is showings some more power, and he makes up for it by stealing a ton of bases.

Gunnar Henderson – Baltimore Orioles

If you need someone to replace Betts home run and RBI totals, then Gunnar Henderson is the best choice on the board. The 22-year-old has been incredible for the Orioles, posting a .274 average, 22 home runs, and 49 RBI this season. It has been a major step forward from his rookie campaign in 2023, where he finished with 28 home runs and 82 RBI, which he is on pace to easily surpass this season.

Like Betts, Henderson is the leadoff man atop a loaded lineup. That hasn’t hindered his ability to rack up home runs and RBIs, but it has led to the shortstop scoring the third-most runs in baseball. The talent behind Henderson also gives him protection, ensuring opposing pitchers won’t try to work around him. As long as he stays healthy, Henderson should finish with one of the most impressive state lines in baseball.

Willy Adames – Milwaukee Brewers

If you are looking to save some money on a replacement for Betts, Willy Adames is your man. The 28-year-old had the worst season of his career in 2023, but he has bounced back in a major way this season. Adames has 12 home runs and ranks seventh in the league with 51 RBIs. He doesn’t hit for average, but his plate discipline has been far better in 2024, making him a solid daily DFS starter.

Adames has a very good chance to hit 30 home runs and drive in 100 RBIs for the first time in his career. Not only is he seeing the ball better, but he is hitting fourth in a Brewers lineup that ranks sixth in batting average. He will have a lot of great RBI opportunities, leading to some great production at a lower price in your DFS league.

Francisco Lindor – New York Mets

Francisco Lindor’s price has been dropping in DFS leagues after a brutal start to the season. His mediocre stats coincided with a brutal start from the Mets, but that is starting to turn around. Grimace has propelled the Mets to a six-game win streak, and the team has now won eight of their last ten. Lindor’s price remains fairly low, making now a great time to grab him.

While his season numbers aren’t great, Lindor has been heating up in June. In his last three games alone, the shortstop has gone 6-10 at the plate with one home run, four RBIs, and a stolen base. The veteran can’t match the production of Mookie Betts, we expect his stats to get a major boost now that he is heating up as the team is beginning to play better.
