Gov. Cooper has the opportunity to sign off on a new groundbreaking piece of legislation because of the efforts of the state congress. There were lots and back-and-forths and revisions of plans before the House and Senate ultimately settled on House Bill 347.

On Monday, the NFL released a document that was being used in its league-wide gambling education program. The document claimed that, at their discretion, player agents “have the opportunity to participate in Gambling Policy education training led by NFL Compliance officials.”

The updated ruleset will allow visitors to take selfies and short videos while playing table games, poker, or slot machines, whereas they previously could not. This comes after they added pools, clubs, and special zones within their casinos that specifically appeal to the next generation of casino players.

Brady, a 45-year-old, 23-year veteran of the league, recorded an introductory video to the league’s gambling policy on behalf of the league. He discusses his personal attitudes and beliefs regarding the game he once dominated and stamps the league’s position on active players not being allowed to bet on games.

The North Carolina House is meeting Wednesday to discuss a plan to expand legal sports betting outside of a couple of retail establishments with the use of online and mobile sportsbooks. At the end of the discussion, a vote will determine if the plan is approved and goes to the Governor’s desk.

Anthony Rivas, 33, was the victim of a shooting at around 4:00 a.m. ET at the 3300 block of Cahuenga Boulevard. Authorities were alerted of a disturbance when locals called in to report shots fired during the early-morning hours.

Massachusetts legalized retail sports betting on January 31 and less than three months after it launched online sports betting on March 10. Members that were present during the meeting unanimously voted to send a letter that asked for an investigation of offshore sites to U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland.

HB1942, dedicated to legalizing online sportsbooks, had the full support of the Texas Sports Betting Alliance, which features former Gov. Rick Perry, sports betting industry giants BetMGM, DraftKings, FanDuel, and Fanatics, and with owners and representatives of local professional sports teams and more.

The Senate Commerce and Insurance Committee delivered its verdict in favor of HB 347 roughly one month after the House of Representatives voted on the sports betting bill. The changes of note were to the tax rate and addition of pari-mutuel betting on horse racing events.

The partnership, signed in 2020, was designated to run through the 2025-26 school year. It had drawn criticism in recent months because of how it allegedly marketed and encouraged sports betting for college students, a claim that both parties denied was the focus of their union.
