Representatives of Entain Foundation U.S., part of FanDuel’s parent company Entain Plc, met with state lawmakers in Atlanta on Tuesday to discuss a path to legalization next year. The topic of gaming has been broached in congress the last few years but has failed to materialize into anything concrete.

The new charges that have been levied are the most serious thus far. Denver Broncos defensive end and former Iowa State Cyclones player Eyioma Uwazurike and ISU wrestler Paniro Johnson have both been hit with Class D felony identity theft.

The accusations have risen to the surface as the commission deals with at least four pending lawsuits dealing with discrimination based on sex, race, and disability, among others. It’s already settled two age-related discrimination suits and forked out $75,000 as a result in the past four years.

The deal in place—and the one that was verified by the federal court—grants authority to the Seminole Tribe for online wagers since they are processed on servers at their facility. West Flagler owns Magic City Casino and Bonita Springs Poker Room and wants a cut.

The company announced Friday that its platforms in Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Louisiana, New Jersey, Tennessee, Virginia, and West Virginia would no longer be available for business. However, operations in Nevada and Massachusetts will continue uninterrupted, while New York and Michigan are still being reviewed.

ESPN, the American leader in worldwide sports coverage, will now be in charge of creating betting lines for a variety of sports events. Other top online sportsbooks will still have the opportunity to advertise their platforms on ESPN despite the new deal.

Uwazurike, 25, was found guilty of violating the league’s sports betting policy and was subsequently suspended in another sweep of players. He was also traced to participating in sports betting at Iowa State University in a separate investigation.

According to reports, both men placed a number of bets on games, several of which involved their respective schools. Dekkers, if convicted, is facing a permanent ban because of the pervasive nature of his betting habits and because he attempted to hide his background.

The Cordish Companies, a casino development company based in Baltimore, was responsible for contributions to at least eight politicians. There is concern that if the lawmakers proceed with the draft to the benefit of The Cordish Cos., it will perpetuate a system wherein businesses and political parties work for one another.

Whether the high school-aged boys were inspired by Foghat’s “Slow Ride” and or the valet attendants in Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, they were unsuccessful in exiting the hotel and casino parking lot with new rides. All they succeeded in was damaging the cars’ steering columns, which led to their arrests.
