  • Circa Sports went live in Kentucky on May 14
  • Kentucky now has a total of eight online sportsbooks
  • Cumberland Run is Circa’s partner in the Bluegrass State

The slow expansion of Circa Sports continued into Kentucky last week. The high-end online sportsbook went live in the Bluegrass State on May 14, making it the eighth operator to go live. They join a new legal sports betting market, with Kentucky going live on September 28, 2023.

“We are thrilled to launch Circa Sports in the great state of Kentucky,” said Circa Sports CEO Derek Stevens in a press release. “We’ve always had our sights set here as we know it is a major hub for college sports, horse racing, and more. We are looking forward to providing Kentucky bettors with some of the best odds and expertise out there.”

Circa was able to gain access to the state thanks to a partnership with Cumberland Run, a harness horse racing track. They join bet365, BetMGM, Caesars, Circa, DraftKings, Fanatics, FanDuel, and ESPN BET in Kentucky’s online sports betting market.

Circa will be the third sportsbook in the state to allow bettors over the age of 18 wager using their platform. Kentucky is one of the few states to set the minimum age for sports betting at 18 though only bet365 and DraftKings have opted to accept bets from players under 21 years old.

Circa Brings Kentucky Bettors High-End Option

Circa Sports has found success in the US by carving out a niche with big money players. What the lack in sportsbook promos they make up for with high betting limits and a world-class rewards program. This has allowed them to find success with a smaller market share and is driving their expansion across the US.

Kentucky represents the fifth state in which Circa Sports has launched their online sportsbook, joining Nevada, Illinois, Colorado, and Iowa.

Betr Prepares to Launch

The expansion of Kentucky sports betting won’t end with Circa Sports. Betr was granted access to the Market in January as they prepare to launch their unique micro-betting platform. Like Circa, their unique style created a unique niche that will help them compete against other betting apps and betting sites in an oversaturated market.

Betr’s micro betting offers players the chance to wager on every moment of a game. Unlike live betting, bettors can wager on things like who will score the next point, commit the next penalty, or grab the next rebound. The fast-paced style allows bettors a chance to wager and win multiple times throughout a single event, which takes live betting to an entirely new level.

Betr has yet to announce an official launch date in Kentucky but expect to go live in 2024.
