  • Users must also have a YouTube TV subscription to redeem NFL Sunday Ticket
  • A C-level FanDuel employee said the deal is the only of its kind

Unification is happening in sports and sports betting. FanDuel is teaming up with NFL Sunday Ticket for an exclusive offer for all new sports betting customers.

The promotion, which began early this week, allows all new FanDuel users who create an account the chance to win $200 in bonus bets and $100 off an NFL Sunday Ticket purchase. In other words, they can get close to the action for cheaper than usual, and they’ll have a stocked betting account to boot.

Users only need to make an account and bet $5 to trigger the offer, which is a small price to pay for the rewards that are in play.

A new opportunity for fans

This is the first time that NFL Sunday Ticket will be available to YouTube and YouTube TV users. It broadcasts every game in the league, including those that are not carried by local networks, in one location. It’s the true sports fan’s dream in that respect.

Games are put side-by-side on one screen, giving fans unlimited access to all of the action from around the league. It'd be like if an air traffic control tower operator had footballs to keep track of instead of planes (excuse the stretched metaphor).

The cost of NFL Sunday Ticket depends on the packager the user chooses. The bill can run anywhere from $349-489 for a season (note: NFL Sunday Ticket does not include postseason coverage).

FanDuel will send a discount code for $100 off to users who trigger the offer within 72 hours after they have created an account, deposited at least $10, and bet at least $5 in any FanDuel market.

The offer ends on Monday, September 18th, or the day of Monday Night Football in Week 2 of the 2023 NFL season. All new users in states where FanDuel is licensed and operational will be able to claim the offer.

The $100 off of NFL Sunday Ticket does not bypass the need for a subscription to YouTube TV. The $100 bonus also cannot be used to help fund a YouTube TV subscription—it is only for NFL Sunday Ticket.

NFL betting approaching

Sportsbook promotions are one of the ways that operators entice bettors and convince them to use their outlets. They have been extremely popular ever since the inception of legal sports betting in America and have become more and more creative, leading to deals such as FanDuel’s with NFL Sunday Ticket.

Mike Raffensperger, FanDuel’s Chief Commercial Officer, spoke glowingly of the new opportunity FanDuel is giving users.

“Partnering with YouTube to help deliver NFL Sunday Ticket on YouTube and YouTube TV to our customers places FanDuel squarely at the intersection of one of the most valued sports and media offerings in the world,” said Raffensperger. “This partnership makes FanDuel the only category partner making it easier for fans to access every out-of-market Sunday afternoon NFL game and elevates the sports betting and entertainment experience for millions of fans across the United States.”

On top of the $100 discount code, users will also have $200 of bonus bets at their disposal. Bonus bets are essentially tokens that act as currency on FanDuel but cannot be redeemed for cash. They can, however, be used as a stake for a wager and will win cash if the bet hits.

FanDuel is the American leader in sports betting. Eilers & Krejcik Gaming analyst Chris Krafcik said that the Flutter-owned platform holds a 44% share of the market, which easily bests all of its competitors.

NFL betting and the NFL season will get underway on Thursday, September 7, when the Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs host the Detroit Lions on Thursday Night Football.
